Ride the Waves
Imagine the thrill of paddling onto a wave, popping up onto your feet and just gliding through the ocean. Once you try it you’re bound to get hooked!
Lucky for you, Killalea provides perfect conditions for learning to surf, and just so happens to be one of the most picturesque beaches along the Australian coast. Vaya and the team at Pines Surfing Academy will give you the tips and tricks to see you carving it up out the back on a fibreglass board in no time!
Refuel at The Farm Cafe while taking in this breathtaking view. You’ll certainly need it by the time you hike it up the hill!Â
Look a Bit Deeper
You might think you know Shellharbour. But do you really? There’s a whole other world waiting to be explored below the surface!
And it’s a paradise! Shellharbour Scuba & Photography provide scuba diving lessons at Bushranger’s Bay Aquatic Reserve, and they can teach you the ropes while discovering soft coral sponges, big blue groper, sea dragons and more! It’s an experience you’ll never forget.
And if donning the scuba gear feels a bit too next level, there’s plenty of marine life to be seen by grabbing a snorkel and floating around the sheltered bay.
There’s heaps to see around Bass Point Reserve on foot too! Follow the Coastal Heritage Walk signs, pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it!

Being a photographer, I love the diversity of the Shellharbour region. There's pristine beaches and the lake, to rolling hills, rainforest and, of course the escarpment - all within a 20-minute drive. Plus with the airport and soon to be marina - Shellharbour has it all!
We love living in Tullimbar Village, it has a fantastic sense of community! We enjoy spending time in the Village eating at cafes and our dog Peggy loves the beach. Peggy's Bistro emulates everything we love about Shellharbour and feel lucky to be part of the wonderful community our customers create.
